Apply for a place

Would you like to run an ADHD UK support group where you live? This free online course trains you to set up and lead a support group in your own area. New groups start in January 2027. More about the course

The course

  • Wednesday 18 November 2026: training, week 1
  • Wednesday 25 November 2026: training, week 2
  • Wednesday 2 December 2026: training, week 3
  • Wednesday 9 December 2026: training, week 4
  • Wednesday 16 December 2026: assessment evening

Every session is 6.30pm to 8pm UK time, online in ADHD UK's video rooms. You need to come to all five.

Cost

Free. Nothing to pay now. We ask for a £50 returnable deposit only if we offer you a place, and we cover it if you cannot.

Criminal record check

Group leaders need a criminal record check (an Enhanced DBS check in England and Wales, PVG in Scotland, AccessNI in Northern Ireland). If you don't have one, we arrange it for free.

What we look for

  • You could run a group every week from January.
  • You are happy to run a general group, open to all adults.
  • You can come to all five evenings.
  • Your answer to why you are interested. You don't need experience or training.

Applications close on Wednesday 11 November 2026. We will reply to everyone by Friday 13 November 2026. Questions: hello@adhduk.co.uk.

Apply for a place

There are 10 places on the course and everyone is welcome to apply. Applying does not book a place. Applications close on Wednesday 11 November. We will reply to everyone by Friday 13 November. Questions marked optional can be left blank.

1. About you
Are you 18 or over?

Group leaders need to be 18 or over.

2. Your group

A few sentences is fine. Tell us what draws you to it.

Have you found where you would hold the group?

It is fine if not. We just want to know where you are up to.

The name of the place and the town is enough.

We are currently recruiting leaders for general groups, open to all adults.

Do you have any relevant experience or training?

It is fine if you don't, but we would like to know if you do.

3. The course
Can you come to all 5 Wednesday evenings, 6.30pm to 8pm?

Weeks 1 to 4 are training and week 5 is the assessment.

Groups start in January and meet every week. Could you run a group every week?
Do you already have a criminal record check for this kind of role?

In England and Wales this is an Enhanced DBS check, in Scotland a PVG check, in Northern Ireland an AccessNI check. If you don't have one, we arrange it for free.

The £50 deposit

Nothing to pay now. We only ask for the deposit if we offer you a place, and return it to you automatically when you complete the course. Asking us to cover it does not affect your application.

For example captions, breaks or materials in advance. You do not need to tell us about any diagnosis or health condition.

How we use your details

We use your answers to look at your application and to contact you about this course. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. Your answers are seen only by our training team and ADHD UK's senior staff, and are kept securely. If your application is not successful, we delete it 12 months after the course ends. If you go on to lead a group, we keep it while you are a group leader and for 2 years after. You can ask to see, correct or delete your details by emailing hello@adhduk.co.uk, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). More in our privacy policy.

If the "I am human" check does not work for you, email hello@adhduk.co.uk and we will help you apply.
