Emma Thompson\, Employment Partner\, Thackray Williams solicitors\, is hosting a free\, pro bono support group where she’ll discuss workplace challenges\, legal protections\, and practical strategies to ensure fairness and inclusion. This is a safe space to share experiences\, ask questions\, and get informed. Everyone is welcome. \nWe receive no government funds. SUMMARY:Masking and Self-Acceptance with Penny Kennedy
DESCRIPTION:Many people\, especially those with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence\, spend years hiding parts of themselves in order to fit in\, avoid criticism\, or meet other people’s expectations. This is known as masking. While it can help us navigate the world\, it can also be exhausting and leave us feeling disconnected from who we really are. In this session we will think about the emotional and physical cost of constantly “fitting in” and how fear of judgement can shape our behaviour. \nPenny Kennedy is a certified ADHD Coach. Penny was inspired to train as an ADHD coach following the diagnosis of her two adult children and husband. Being part of this family has given her an acute awareness and insight into the enormous challenges that ADHD can present. But also\, how much better life can be for those with ADHD\, given the right treatment. With a background in Music Therapy and Special Needs teaching\, it was natural for Penny to seek training in the best way to help them.
